Hey hey, The Skin Thing now supports sound files in your skins, aren't you just sooooo thrilled? Download The Skin Thing v0.6 from the download page now! Along with support for sound files I've added a niffty 'Info' panel that gives you the low-down on individual skins and a couple of extra options.

The first allows you to specify whether you want The Skin Thing to install the player 'P' model when you install a skin into Counter-Strike. This is included because a lot of CS servers out there enforce file consistancy. If your 'P' model is different than the one on the server then you will not be able to join that server (which is a Bad Thing).

The second changes the way that the skins on your hard-drive are stored. See this section for an intro on how The Skin Thing can see your skin files.

But don't think that's all, I'll be back with another update sooner or later.

Yes, it's the first-new-release of The Skin Thing! This release contains a few cosmetic improvements and allows you to view your skins grouped by weapon or weapon type.

I've also added an installation page to help you get The Skin Thing going on your system.

I'll probably be doing a bit more work on The Skin Thing over the next couple of days so stay tuned for the next release.

Yes, it minces, it dices and it slices. Oh, hang on, that's Optusbot2. The Skin Thing will (sooner or later) include:

• Support for sound and sprite files in skins
• Pretty icons to help you easily distinguish between your weaponry
• Support for player models
• Sorting and grouping options
• Lots, lots more

These are just some of the features that I intent to incorperate into The Skin Thing at some stage. Let me know if you think there is something that The Skin Thing just cannot do without.

Today I put up this site for all you happy Counter-Strike enthusiasts so that you can download a program I've written called The Skin Thing.

The Skin Thing can:

• Help you organise your thousands of skins/models
• Install skins with an easy-to-use (and clickable) interface
• Let you preview models in your collection with the help of a model viewer
• Be installed, set up and running in well under 30 secs (try it!)
• Improve your frag ratio
• Elimate campers with the press of a key

Actually, it can't do those last two but it would be nice if it could, eh?
